Yesterday, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, joined some worshipers to undergo some rituals/prayers at the Obatala Temple in Ile-Ife, Osun state.
The monarch was joined by Olufon, the first son of Obatala (pictured seating down) and Obalesun who is the Obatala Chief Priest ( pictured standing with white marks)
Before the Ooni’s coronation, Oba Ogunwusi was moved into seclusion at a shrine known as Ilofi in Ile-Ife, Osun state, where he stayed for 21 days.
During his stay in seclusion, which was part of preparations towards his coronation, the Ooni was said to have worshipped Obatala for five days as he was given ‘spiritual power’ before the conclusion of the seclusion rites.
