Boko Haram insurgents steal 167 cows in Borno attack


Boko Haram insurgents launched an attack near a village in Maiduguri on Wednesday, January 24, killing one and injuring 3 others.

Sahara Reporters, citing a vigilante source reports that the terrorists stormed Kofa village along Bama road at 1.15am on Wednesday, stole 167 from a herd of cows.

“We lost 167 of our cows to invaders but our troops, hunters and CJTF are in pursuit of the terrorists." said the source.

Meanwhile, the Senate on Tuesday, January 23, asked the Nigerian army to pay N25.3 million as damages to a retired major, Ali Abdullahi, as ordered by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court.
The resolution of the Senate followed the recommendation by the committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, Premium Times reports.
It was gathered that the petition was submitted in February 2017 by the senator representing Kogi Central, Ahmed Ogembe.
Sam Anyanwu, Imo-PDP, who presented the report, said the army was wrong to tag the officer a terrorist.
